PAINTERS ON THE ROAD

Our research on the painters Giovanni and Girolamo Todisco. Their paintings can be found all around in Basilicata.

We first encountered their work in 2018 and were drawn in by their presence across churches and monasteries scattered throughout Basilicata — places that, for us, often remain off the beaten track. Since then, we have been working to reach the various sites and secure the necessary permissions. To date, we have gathered around 700 photographs documenting the works preserved in the locations where the two artists were active. The photographs are intended for a publication project still to be defined. As we are not art historians, any attributions to either painter should be treated as provisional.
